Cindy Whitlow

My name is Cindy Whitlow and I ride a 2009 Harley Sportster 883L. I rode anything with wheels most of my life, but never thought about getting on a street bike. I rode with my husband for many years. When our son was getting ready to graduate from college and enter the military he had to take a Motorcycle safety course to be allowed to ride on base. He asked his father to go with him. Dad having ridden his whole life didn’t want to go. I told them I would go if he would get me a bike. I was kidding, but hoping he would agree. Needless to say he bought me a bike and I went to the safety course. This all took place in early March of 2009. It is now early August and I have 3400 miles on my bike. I love riding anytime. Joining Women on Wheels was a great idea. It is nice to be able to ride and not feel the pressure put on you by the men and boys. You can ride, be safe and have a great time with the girls. You see a lot of women on bikes now, especially in Athens, GA where we live. I would have gotten a bike many years ago if I had known how much fun it is to ride. It relieves any stress you may have and I am sure I will be riding a lot with a son in the military.
